Executive Director

​Doug Blevins served in the US Navy as an Electrician Mate 2ND Class Petty Officer. After his discharge, he continued his career in the electrical construction industry. He worked for several large contractors as a Superintendent, Project Manager, and Engineer, before he and his wife founded Electrical Testing Inc. in Atlanta, Ga. IN 1978. Upon his retirement the company was sold. He is a VFW Past State Commander

President

Greg Stafford served in the U.S. Navy from 1983 to 2005 retiring as a Chief Petty Officer. He has a BS in History with a Minor in Secondary Education from ECSU in Elizabeth City, N.C. He has served in various leadership positions in the VFW. Post Commander 20011-14, District Commander 2011-15, Long Range Planning Committee 2013-15 and as the Chairman of the Financial Committee for the Department of North Carolina, Veterans of Foreign Wars in 2014/2015. Mr. Stafford is the Past Commander of the Department of North Carolina Veterans of Foreign Wars. Mrs. Stafford is the President of the Veterans Foundation of North Carolina Inc.

President

Greg Stafford served in the U.S. Navy from 1983 to 2005 retiring as a Chief Petty Officer. He has a BS in History with a Minor in Secondary Education from ECSU in Elizabeth City, N.C. He has served in various leadership positions in the VFW. Post Commander 20011-14, District Commander 2011-15, Long Range Planning Committee 2013-15 and as the Chairman of the Financial Committee for the Department of North Carolina, Veterans of Foreign Wars in 2014/2015. Mr. Stafford is the Past Commander of the Department of North Carolina Veterans of Foreign Wars. Mrs. Stafford is the President of the Veterans Foundation                                        of North Carolina Inc.


Chief Financial Officer

John D. Harris served in the US Navy on active duty from 1971 until 1978.He is a graduate of the United States Naval Academy / Annapolis, with a MD / BS in Engineering and Naval Flight School in Pensacola where he was trained as a Naval Aviator.. In 1976 he received an MBA degree from Central State University in Edmond, OK. He was employed in semiconductor sales until his retirement in 2003. Mr. Harris is the currently the Vice Chairman of the Avery County Airport Authority. Mr. Harris is the CFO of the Veterans Foundation of North Carolina Inc.


Ken Sellers served in the US Navy as a Medical Corpsman and was stationed with the First Marine Division FMF in Danang, South Viet Nam. Ken received an AB Degree from Wingate University and a BS degree in Business Administration from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Before retiring, he was Regional Sales Manager for EMPI, a sports medicine and electrotherapy division of DonJoy Orthopedics. Ken has served in various leadership positions in the VFW, from Post 1920 Commander and District 6 Commander to District Trustee. He is now serving at the National level as a member of the Resolutions Committee. Ken is currently serving as Chairman of the Budget Committee for the Department of North Carolina eterans of Foreign

Matt Lyall earned his Bachelors in Chemistry from the University of Virginia in 1998 and went on to earn a Doctorate of Pharmacy from Shenandoah University in 2002. Since then, he has held several positions in the pharmacy field, managing multiple locations in the surrounding states, including, Staff pharmacist, Pharmacy Manager, Pharmacy Supervisor and currently Healthcare Supervisor. Matt has worked for Walgreen’s for 15 years and currently leads multiple stores across NC and SC to ensure clinical and quality standards are upheld, providing a differentiated customer experience.


Craig Armstrong  served in the United States Marine Corps from 1987-1991. He has an Associates Degree in Basic Law Enforcement  Training from Carolina Community College and an Advance Law Enforcement Certificate from North Carolina Training and Standards. He is a Past State Commander of the North Carolina VFW.


​Douglas Marshall was born in Newport News, VA. He received his Bachelor’s degree from James Madison University and his MBA from UNC-Greensboro. Douglas began his career as a programmer specialist with Computer Sciences Corp at Ft Lee, VA. He moved to NC with Hanes Corp as a programmer and business forecast manager. Douglas has worked with Fortune 50 companies and single owner private companies. He and his wife, Karen have lived in Chattanooga, TN, Kansas City, KS, and Los Angeles, CA before settling in Clemmons, NC in 2003. The past 15 years Douglas has worked as an independent advisor assisting individuals in making informed healthcare, life insurance, and financial planning choices. He also works closely with the veteran community assisting them to fully utilize their VA benefits. Douglas and his wife have two children and three grandchildren


Joe Caradonna served in the U. S. Navy from 1968-1972, obtaining the level of E-4 Radioman 3rd Class. He was stationed off the coast of Vietnam, 1970-1972. After his discharge, he attended college and achieved his B.S. in Accounting with a minor in Business. After spending 20 years in corporate America, he started his own business. He is currently the President/CEO of J&K Screenprinting and Embroidery Co. Mr. Caradonna is the current District 6         Commander of the Veterans of Foreign Wars of NC.
